Aquarian Ambulators

Clevedon business Aquarian Cladding Systems has raised a massive £5,285 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The ‘Aquarian Ambulators,’ consisting of Jazz Rigden, Paul Richards, Chris Gill, Emma Gilbert, Jake McVitty, Jacob Wotton, Martin Allen and Julian Venus, took on and completed the gruelling 25k Jurassic Coast challenge.

Aquarian’s Business Development Director Julian Venus, who was inspired to organise the team and take on the challenge by his mother-in-law who has dementia, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us, with donations, shares and likes, and words of encouragement.

“I never thought we’d break £5k when we announced this event two months ago and set the target at £2k, only to find that was hit in the first three weeks. Alzheimer’s Research UK is such an important cause and to raise so much money and awareness for it was fantastic.

“It was a great experience, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team. We all finished with personal best distances over the seven hours, which was a great achievement.”

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. For further information or to find out more about fundraising for the charity, call 0300 111 5555 or visit www.alzheimersresearchuk.org
