Innovative and Lightweight Cladding Crafted from Authentic Bricks, Enhanced with MechSlip Cladding

MechSlip is a unique and innovative, lightweight brick cladding system, developed by market leaders Ash & Lacy and Ibstock Kevington. It enables architects and specifiers to achieve a non-combustible, through-coloured brick façade with the inspired efficiency and versatility of a mechanically-fixed brick slip cladding system.

MechSlip Features
Gloucestershire Digital Skills Centre, Cirencester College

Available in a Range of Styles and Finishes

Primarily available in a wide range of Ibstock brick finishes, cut and grooved to produce slips with a robust, anchored profile, MechSlip is durable & lightweight, and consists of 6063T6-grade aluminium support rails. This non-combustible cladding system is A1 rated, meeting the fire performance of Building Regulations for use on buildings over 18m.

MechSlip has been robustly tested to meet the rigorous weathertightness standards set by the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT) and was awarded BBA certificate number 20/5787 in 2020. Whether you simply want to match an existing brick finish, or push your design to a whole new level, MechSlip will provide a natural, non-combustible brick cladding façade using real, but thinner, bricks.

Features of MechSlip, non-combustible cladding:

  • Mechanically secured slips produced from natural clay bricks
  • Tough and lightweight 6063T6-grade aluminium rail support system
  • Fire tested by Warringtonfire – Classified A1 to EN 13501-1
  • Pre-spaced 10mm vertical and horizontal mortar joints
  • Delivers the colour-fast stability and natural weathering behaviour of a traditional clay brick finish
  • Easy to install, minimising time on site and the associated labour costs
  • Over 50% lighter than traditional masonry, reducing structural load
