Working with specialist fast-track building supplier, ModuleCo, Aquarian Cladding has supplied its Gebrik insulating brick cladding system to hospital development projects in both Lincoln and Burton.
During December 2009, 60 pre-fabricated ‘pods’ were assembled to create two 56 bed wards at Lincoln County Hospital, which were subsequently clad by ECL Contracts using 1,000m² of Gebrik Ardor Dragwire (Ref FE90-60) to match the traditional, residential-style brick aesthetic of the hospital and surrounding buildings. Jonathon Brindley of ModuleCo said: "The hospital trust placed the order in September and the wards welcomed the first patients in February. The short turn-around time from ordering to opening is a major advantage to hospitals that need to close wards and move patients for deep cleaning of wards as well as providing extra bed space."
